Swinging is like saying no no no

One simple action-a minimal unit that defines a state. "Swinging is like saying no no no" is a performance that disarticulates the body by triggering a tension between the swinging, insistent movement of the head and the slow, measured movement of the rest of the body. The action takes on the features of a dance-sculpture that explores a body stretched between development and obstacle, process and interlocking, evolution and involution. Defining a dynamic of repetition compulsion, the work gradually accumulates an energy that heralds a potential explosion.

The performance, conceived by Marta Magini with original music by Nicla Di Croce, has been presented in various locations and festivals including Centro Candiani -Default Festival (Mestre), Centro Altinate, MAC (Padova), DAS - Collagene (Bologna), Villa Rey, Microonde (Torino), Wunderkammer, Un-design (Ferrara).
