Sonic future residencies

The “Sonic future residencies” program explores the specificity of the sonic environment of Romanian rural areas, examining the relationship between human activity and the resulting auditory landscape. The constant dialogue with nature, agricultural work, animal care, and popular gatherings contribute to the portrait of a transforming space, where the sounds of modernity, increasingly present, are still paced by the seasons.  The residency programme invites artists to interrogate and document these sounds, with the dual objectives of broadening the artistic vocabulary and challenging the superficial relationship with the environment.

The residency has been curated by Anamaria Pravicencu / Semi-silent and promoted by the Italian institute of Culture, Bucharest, with the collaboration of Associazione Culturale Interzona.
