hearing voices, facing the void

The sound material used for the project comes from a field recording trip to the abandoned village of Craco, Basilicata, and from the voice of the poet Domenico Brancale. The aim is to invite the listener to further reflect on the abandoned and most marginal areas of the inner south of Italy, then symbolically shifting from sonic poetics to the regional policies regulating such territories.

‘Hearing voices, facing the void’ was first presented as a performance in the framework of the festival ‘Algoritmo’, and then become a sound installation for the collective exhibition ‘Intramoenia’, Pinacoteca Provinciale di Potenza.
