urban beats

Urban beats is a sonic research dedicated to the rythmic and intimate textures of city of Brescia. A series of field recordings are taken in the main outdoor markets and public spaces, and are edited to underline the everyday beats that give to the environment a special sense of the place. Voices from most marginalized communities and audible traces of social resistance are gathered in a imprevedible, yet familiar mix.

The sound installation was presented in the framework of ‘The big Beat night’, a public event promoted by ‘Centro Teatrale Bresciano’.
