‘Riconnessioni’, Creative Living Lab 2019
residency and performance

The project took place in Palermo at “Quartiere San Giovanni e Paolo” (namely a public housing suburb) and was part of the Italian Ministry of Culture’s funded project “Creative Living Lab”, coordinated by Sguardi Urbani.

The aim was to develop a participatory action-research as to present sound art tools that support collaborative decision making on urban regeneration. The mixed-method used throughout the process includes: sound walks, field recordings, informal group interviews, roundtables, collaborative design, and participatory sound performance. The combination of these methods, and the corresponding data collected, give light to an approach that implements urban planning tools through sound art and participatory design practice.
