Urban Sampling is a sonic research developed during an artistic residency organised by the art collective “Dimora Oz”.

The research is interested in the everyday sounds of the historical marketplaces of Palermo, and focuses on the particular street cries of the sellers. Such unique sonic messages relate to a strong tradition which is now disappearing and could be heared just in few areas and moments of the day. A series of interviews and field recordings are collected and presenter through a sound installation and a performance.
