Attuning to / resonating with (Sulcis)
Dalle Acque Festival, 2025Residency and performative intervention

The project explores the concepts of attunement and resonance through sound and listening, focusing in particular on the Sulcis area (Sardinia). Investigating Sulcis industrial inland territory, its rivers and caves, abandoned mines, renewable energy plants (wind power, etc.) and new industries (especially in the military sector), the research reflects on the complex coexistence of all these elements taking specifically into account the presence of arm industry within a highly marginal area.
The aim is to create a space in which to reflect on the vitality of the bodies and non-human materialities connected to it, experimenting with ways to enter into renown and establish a ‘dialogue’ with their specific sounds and vibrations. Understanding the practice of listening as a crucial step towards this goal, the project experiments with a choir of human voices imitating the drone-like sounds of a local weapon industry, the RWM factory, located in the town of Domusnovas.
The project has been developed within Dalle Acque Festival, curated by Maria Paola Zedda in collaboration with Nicola Ratti. The research and choir performative intervention have been supported by Maurizio Saiu, the video documentation is by Gaetano Crivaro.
