art residency / performance
Listening closely is a participatory sound art project developed within the Fondazione Aurelio Petroni art residency in San Cipriano Picentino, a small village in the south of Italy.
The project is interested in studying the relationship between the inhabitants of the village and their sonic environment, unveiling the connection between soundscape, participatory design and the political level of understanding. A series of soundwalks and a final participatory performance aimed to stimulate sonic awareness of the community, so that sonic identity could enter the political framework of the village.
