Il lanternista
Guggenheim Venice 2023score and live performance
Il lanternista is a participatory research and art-based project developed by Gli impresari artistic collective revolving around the performative use of magic lanterns. The installation consists of a series of lanterns and contributions from over 40 artists who were invited to reflect on and develop a brand new work on the iconographic theme of the "triumph of death", with reference to one of the most famous examples of this representation: The Triumph of Death in Palermo.
The performance, featuring original music scored by Nicola Di Croce performed live, has been presented at Guggenheim Venice in the framework of Avvenimento 1, and was later recipient of the Life is live grant promoted by Smart.
